TENNIS

At Advantage Sports & Leisure we understand that a tennis court is an asset that adds value to your home or commercial centre.  It is our aim to provide high quality surfaces that you "want" to play on, resulting in years of personal enjoyment for both the novice and competitive player. We have over 16 years experience in the construction of concrete / acrylic and road base synthetic grass tennis courts and can assist you with your every tennis requirement, from full design and construct to the supply of accessories and balls!

FULL COURT TENNIS:

Although there are many overall sizes for tennis courts, the actual play area does not vary. The dimensions for the play area are taken to the outsides of the 50mm wide lines.

Singles: 23.77mts x 8.23mts
Doubles: 23.77mts x 10.97mts

The space provided beyond the base and side lines can vary considerably. The size recommended by for a club court is 34.8mts x 17.1mts, however we find a total court area of 33mts x 16.3mts is suitable for most private courts and 37mts x 17mts for public courts. This width works the toll sizes of synthetic grass with very little waste.

HALF COURT TENNIS:

Half court tennis can give all the social benefits of tennis and can be played competitively at all levels. The system is not one single component but a carefully designed and balanced combination of ball, racquet and court dimensions. The unique ball and racquet design enables you to play the sport using all the skills of tennis and with the same power and game as a full size court, including the overhead serve, lobs, volley, smash etc. Virtually no adjustment from regular tennis is necessary. Size of half court tennis is taken to the outsides of the 50mm wide lines. For a doubles play area of 12.62mts x 6.4mts, we generally allow a courts size of 18mts long x 9mts wide.

SURFACES:

Our surfaces are designed to be installed over concrete, asphalt or compacted road base. This latter construction method is extremely popular in areas where the cost of concrete/asphalt is prohibitive. Apart from cost, we find that the resilience of synthetic grass over road base is more forgiving than concrete, giving more player comfort, particularly for older players. Synthetic grass also gives a natural and attractive appearance and blends into the landscaping.

Hard courts continue to be popular with sporting bodies, particularly Tennis Australia, which recommends hard courts for junior player development. A well constructed hard court surfaced with Rebound Synpave also provides excellent economy over the long term, usually only requiring a resurface with topcoat every 8 – 10 years. Apart from the comprehensive range of surfaces outlined below, we can provide tailor-made products to suit individual customer's needs – from design and base construction to fencing, lighting and tennis accessories.
